Details about dynamic sequences and using them for 'drip campaigns'.
Dynamic sequences, introduced by HubSpot in late 2024, automate outreach until the enrolled contact engages. Once the enrolled contact opens your email twice or clicks once, the sequence will queue up manual tasks for you to complete. This ensures that you focus on only the warmest leads.
With dynamic sequences, you can concentrate on warm leads who are engaged and have a higher likelihood of converting, and your sequence handles the rest.
Enroll Contacts in a Dynamic Sequence
To enroll contacts in a dynamic sequence, you will follow the same process as enrolling them in a regular sequence.
You'll know the sequence is dynamic if it has an orange 'dynamic' button next to the title.
Setting Up Dynamic Sequences
The Marketing Team will set up your sequence for you. However, you have various steps to choose from for your manual outreach. Refer to the table below for details on each step. While it's not mandatory to use all the steps, doing so can simplify your outreach process.
If you want to add any specific steps, please let the Marketing Team know. The more steps you add, the more your sequence will function like a drip campaign.
Key Points to Remember:
- Automated emails are sent until engagement happens (2 opens or 1 click). Manual tasks are only created if engagement happens.
- There is an option to pause the sequence until the manual task is completed.
- Dynamic sequences require at least 2 automated emails in your automated outreach steps and are limited to 10 email templates.
- After a contact is enrolled, any changes you make to a sequence won't affect those already enrolled. Each contact can only be enrolled in one sequence at a time.
- Dynamic sequences have an orange button next to them in HubSpot, making them easily identifiable.
- There is no difference in the actual enrollment and sending process of a dynamic sequence compared to a regular sequence.
General Best Practices for Sequences:
- Have a well-defined goal and a clear call to action for your sequence. This doesn't always have to be booking a meeting.
- Keep your email copy short. If an email is long on desktop, it will be extremely long on mobile.
- Make sure your email is personalized and relevant to the contacts you're sending it to.
