Smart Links are similar to HubSpot documents - learn how to create and share one in this article.
A Smart Link allows you to easily package and share content from within your Sales Navigator workflow, track viewing behavior, and gain insights on what your prospects are most interested in.
Anyone is able to receive Smart Links since they can be shared via Sales Navigator, InMail, or email. In addition to content like PPTs and PDFs (each with a page limit of 300), you can also add URLs and YouTube videos (limit of 30 minutes) to your Smart Links presentations and share them.
Create a Smart Link
You'll find Smart Links in the top navigation bar. Within the Smart Links tab, you can both create, modify and also view analytics for Smart Links. Keep in mind the ability to create Smart Links isn't currently supported on the Sales Navigator mobile app.
While creating your Smart Link, you have the option to:
- Choose your title
- Add multiple files or website links (you can add up to 15 files per Smart Link, and each file has a size limit of 200 MB)
- Rename your original document or rearrange order of documents
- Enable recipients to download
Once you click Create, you've created your first Smart Link - now it's time to share your Smart Link.
Share a Smart Link
Once you've shared your Smart Link with a prospect, they will be directed to the document. See the screenshot below to understand what your prospect sees.
When your prospect receives your email or InMail, they'll be able to click the unique link to access your Smart Link. If they're logged into LinkedIn, they'll be prompted with a welcome screen, where they'll click Agree and View to enter. If the viewer isn't logged into LinkedIn, they will be prompted to do so, or asked to provide their first name, last name, and email address.
All users have to self-identify before viewing the link, which means you will always know who your viewers are when you look at Smart Link analytics later.
You have the ability to edit or update your Smart Link even after it has been shared. All Smart Links are also mobile friendly and can be viewed by prospects on their mobile device. You may also view your previously created Smart Links, and their associated viewer activity, on the Sales Navigator mobile app.
